ACTORS

Local congregations of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT), together with other friendly churches.

AIMS

  1. Take each local congregation as a basic unit for implementing disaster management with an aim to reducing casualties and property damages in in troubled times.
  2. Cooperate with relevant government agencies and civil organizations so as to jointly maintain order and stability in the localities, serving as the hope for the neighborhood in times of crisis.

STRATEGIES

  1. Community Safety Map: With the help of experts and through the active congregational participation, the congregation will devise a “Community Safety Map.”
  2. Incident Command System: The congregation will construct an “Incident Command System” based on the existing internal organization of the church, which can fulfill the requirements for a swift “peace-to-war conversion” when a crisis breaks out.
  3. Contextualized Scenarios: The congregation will envisage the possible scenarios on the basis of its concrete location and situation and conduct drills according to the “Contextualized Scenarios.”
  4. Resources and Energies: The congregation will plan for the storage, management, and distribution of resources and energies necessary for surviving the envisioned crisis, and put it into practice.

Companies and factories, urban neighborhoods and rural villages, grassroots associations, as well as clans and communes.

AIMS

  1. Take each group/community as a basic unit for implementing disaster management with an aim to reducing casualties and property damages in in troubled times.
  2. Cooperate with relevant government agencies and civil organizations so as to jointly maintain order and stability in the localities.

Survival Plan

Small families or atomized individuals living in an urban surrounding and lacking with a small community on which you can rely.

AIMS

Prepare yourself to react properly to all kinds of adversities that may arise in war, such as missile attack, bombing, economic collapse, infectious disease, hunger, malnutrition, riots, looting, black market economy…etc.

STRATEGIES

  1. Increase your understanding of all kinds of adversities that may take place in your surrounding in troubled times.
  2. Make a plan for each potential adversity you may meet in war.
  3. Carry out material and financial preparations.
